As suggested by Mervyn Storey MLA at the parents meeting, we need to write to the First Minister. I have included his office address near the top of this post.
ReplyDeleteHi Folks,
ReplyDeleteJust because the deadline for a response to the Dept of Education Impact Assessment passes this evening (Thursday 4th March) , does not mean that we can't continue to write to everyone else. WE CAN KEEP WRITING TO OTHERS. THERE IS NO OTHER DEADLINE FOR THEM. KEEP THE PRESSURE UP AND WRITE TO MLA'S, COMMISSIONERS, AND OTHER RELEVANT PEOPLE.
As we continue to push forward, we urge all parents to write SEPARATE letters to the Office of First and Deputy first Minister requesting that the entire matter of the proposed withdrawal of preparatory school funding be placed on the Agenda before the Executive.
ReplyDeleteThe reason for this is that Sinn Fein still exercices a veto and unless the matter is put on the Agenda by the joint Office then decision making power remains with the Minister for Education.
To be clear, the Motion passed on 15th March, does not defeat the proposal.
WE MUST KEEP THE PRESSURE UP!
Please find addresses you may need if you intend to write any thank you letters to those who have given guidance and shown tremendous support to RHS Prep.
ReplyDeleteFor your convenience, I have updated addresses for Mervyn Storey MLA and Chairman of the Education Committee and Jonathan Bell MLA in particular who have been extremely supportive of our school. I would also like to mention our local Strangford MLA, Michelle McIlveen who has been particularly supportive and has been invaluable to our parents group.
